Equilibrium in Action: Neurotherapeutic Pediatric Therapies

We love to support non-profit health centers filling important niches in our community, especially when they come recommended by patients! This month we’re proud to support Neurotherapeutic Pediatric Therapies. Neuro first opened in Oregon City in 1985, and in 1997 the clinic was purchased by Karen and Brent Brelje. As parents of 3 adopted children with disabilities and complex needs, Karen and Brent brought a unique passion and vision to provide the best therapies in a family-centered, professionally-staffed environment for kids and families who are most in need. In 2007, Nuro became a nonprofit to provide affordable care to those without insurance benefits and to offer the most effective and creative therapies for each patient. This allowed Neuro to reach children and families in crisis, who wouldn’t ordinarily be able to receive therapeutic services. Over the subsequent years, they expanded to include 8 clinics in Oregon serving over 800 patients each week.

Neuro specializes in treating children from birth to young adulthood who are dealing with the effects of disease, injury, birth defects, disability or developmental problems (e.g. autism spectrum disorder, sensory processing disorders or difficulties, developmental delays, ADD/ADHD, Downs Syndrome, traumatic injuries, neurological and chromosomal disorders, etc.) Neuro knows that these kids exist within the environment of their family and as such their clinics offer mental health services for kids, families, and couples, as well as parent and family coaching. They also have a medical program which includes yearly check-ups, vaccines, and nutrition and medication management to fully support the health and wellbeing of their patients and families.

This month Equilibrium will match all in-office financial donations to Neurotherapeutic Pediatric Therapies. Donations help cover therapy costs for children and young adults who desperately need it. Together we can make a significant difference in the life of a child and their family.
