EQ in Action: Trinity Food Pantry
October is a time of celebrating Fall's bounty and harvest. October is also a great time to help those who do not have a harvest or a way to prepare for November's feast. In coordination with Trinity Cathedral's Hunger Outreach and the Oregon Food Bank, Equilibrium is collecting donations in the office for the Trinity Food Pantry, which is open Monday through Saturday just a few blocks away from Equilibrium. The Pantry offers hospitality and emergency food to our hungry neighbors, in addition to toiletry items and hot coffee.
The Trinity Food Pantry is in need of the following items:
FOOD: canned protein, canned chili, beef stews, ravioli, pork & beans, peanut butter, tuna, chicken, canned fruit, canned vegetables. Other non-perishable food items are welcome.
TOILETRIES: shampoo, soap, lotion, hand sanitizer, toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss, nail clippers, razors, combs. Travel-sized toiletries are preferred.
Please bring your items to donate to your next appointment!
We will be collecting items until the end of October.

A few requests to best help our neighbors:
18 oz. and under cans preferred
pop top lids are helpful
no expired food or glass jars
travel-sized toiletries are preferred

There are lots of volunteer opportunities to volunteer with Trinity Hunger Outreach or the Oregon Food Bank.
Trinity Hunger Outreach also helps our neighbors by providing a Wednesday lunch meal, serving meals at three Transition Projects shelters, helping to deliver food boxes along with Lift Urban Portland, collaborating with Sisters of the Road to give out meal vouchers to be used at the Trinity Food Pantry, serving a Thanksgiving meal that feeds approximately 400 people, picking up donated food from a variety of businesses in Northwest Portland, and hosting several social gatherings at Williams Plaza for low-income/disabled residents in conjunction with Home Forward and Lift Urban Portland. Additionally, the Oregon Food Bank is also always in need of donations and volunteers. Or, if you know of someone who needs food assistance, the Oregon Food Bank can help.
