Shireesh Bhalerao (he/him)
Doctor of Chiropractic, Masters of Clinical Research, Titleist Performance Institute Certified Medical Practitioner
Dr. Bhalerao was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan (a real place) and graduated from Western States Chiropractic College (now University of Western States, UWS) in 2000. In 2013 Dr. Bhalerao was awarded a Masters in Clinical Research at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU).
While opening and maintaining Equilibrium, LLC with his wife, Dr. Bhalerao became an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Chiropractic Sciences at UWS. His teaching expertise is in the realms of spinal- and extraspinal diagnosis and management and evidence-based practice (EBP). Starting in the fall of 2020, he is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Pittsburgh. He is also currently co-authoring a new edition of the textbook Chiropractic Technique: Principles and Procedures with Dr. Stephen Perle.
Dr. Bhalerao is passionate about further integrating the chiropractic field with mainstream medicine, and has created a research collaboration between several Portland chiropractic clinics and the OHSU Department of Rheumatology.
Focused on improving patient outcomes, Dr. Bhalerao created Tulip Seminars, LLC to provide small-group, hands-on, evidence-based continuing education (CE) from experienced and EBP-savvy clinicians. Tulip Seminars raises the CE bar so that chiropractors and other manual therapists can immediately turn what they learn into practice (TULIP).
In his spare time, Dr. Bhalerao enjoys spending time cooking, gardening and birdwatching with his wife, and playing golf with his son.
