All Hands Raised is a nonprofit advocating intelligently for excellent and equitable education for all students since 1994 right here in Portland, Oregon. With a strong focus on racial equity, All hands Raised brings together partners and stakeholders to identify all of the barriers to kids’ success and remove them.

Girls Build teaches girls 8 - 14 years old the basics of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, roofing, painting, auto and bike mechanics, sheet metal and more via summer camps and after-school workshops.

IRCO (Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization) focuses on removing barriers to self-sufficiency and helping individuals and families thrive. Recently, IRCO also became an official refugee resettlement agency, helping families settle into their new homes as well as proving services once the family is established.

These are the myriad barriers in front of our high schoolers — daunting for most, but downright discouraging for those at an economic disadvantage. Minds Matter of Portland helps driven students from lower income families achieve their dream of higher education.
