The mission of The Children’s Book Bank is to fill children’s homes and lives with beautiful, engaging books to advance child literacy, encourage family bonding, and ignite curiosity through the power of books. CBB curates book bundles for children 0-5, furnishes books for free elementary book fairs, and champions diversity in literature.

for many pets at home 2020 was the best year ever! Humans were home much more often, with more time to spare for training, play time, and walks. Many people added furry family members during the pandemic. However, for some pet owners the pandemic imperiled their ability to care for their pets. Pixie Project serves the greater Portland area with thoughtful pet adoption for life-long matches and veterinary care for low-income and homeless pet owners.

In March, we will be collecting much needed items for the Oregon Humane Society. Their urgent needs wish list includes:
- Wet/canned cat and kitten food, especially strong-smelling types like Tiki Cat
- Kitten formula (KMR) and nursing bottles
- Puppy pads (for potty-training)
- Veterinary special diet foods for both cats and dogs (e.g. Royal Canin Hypoallergenic)
- Dog toys (puzzle toys, KONG-type chew toys especially)
- Dog treats (for small to medium-sized dogs)
- Wet/canned cat and kitten food (see brands below)
- XL dog crates
They accept high-quality brands of food like Canidae/Felidae, Castor & Pollux, Eukanuba, Innova, Natural Balance, Newman’s Own, Nutro, Pinnacle, Purina Select/Purina One, Royal Canin, Tiki Cat, and Wellness.
Portland Rescue Mission Donations
There’s been so much tragedy recently and we want to do our part to help out our communities. We’re taking donations for Napa/ Sonoma fire victims (completed November 17th) and for Portland Rescue Mission.
